Oliver Habel was born 1971 in Austria. In Africa Oliver came in contact with old glass beads. This over 2000 year old technique impressed him so much, that he started.
taking classes for making glass beads in 1999. He states: “Glass has always fascinated me very much because of its brilliance and wide variety of colours. It is durable and fragile at the same moment. This medium enables me to express my thoughts and feelings.”
He works mainly with glass from Murano in Venice. Every bead is a piece of art of its own and combined they form unique jewelry.
Today Oliver Habel is recognized internationally for his glass beads and glass art. Among other places he exhibited in Munich, Vienna, Salzburg, and the Art Palm Beach in Florida.
